Joseph L. Bracey, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this life on April 25, 2025, at his residence in Providence, Rhode Island. Born on March 5, 1961, in Providence, Joe lived a full and vibrant life until the age of 64.
He was the cherished son of the late Charlie A. and Luerenia (Cannon) Bracey. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Bracey, and his sister, Marlene Bracey, both of whom he held dear in his heart.
Joseph dedicated many years of his life as a machine operator at Teknor Apex, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. He took pride in his work, and the friendships he formed during his time there were a testament to his character and kindness.
He was known for being exceptionally family-oriented. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories by the campfire, or enjoying the great outdoors. An avid camper, he often took his family on adventures, cultivating a love for nature in his children and grandchildren. He also had a passion for landscaping, transforming yards into beautiful spaces where family memories could blossom. Joe's life was defined by love and a deep commitment to those around him. His warm heart and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Boulais) Gruslin, and a remarkable legacy of children who will carry his spirit forward: Crystal Resendez, Joseph Bracey Jr., Renee Bracey, Catlin Gruslin, Jennifer Bracey, Joseph Gruslin III, Tyler Gruslin, and Hayden Gruslin. Joe was a proud grandfather to 19 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews who adored him and will remember him for his generosity, wisdom, and unwavering support.
